3D Anime

Now that I have a bigger content library, I’m really interested in creating 3D anime.  Actually, I just want to make anime, but I can’t draw worth a flip.  Its easier for me to do CG, so that is why I’m focusing in on 3D anime.  I’m really glad that I have got cell-shaded rendering figured out so well.  I still think I may by Poser, since its toon rendering is seems so good, but I’m not sure yet.  I think I’ll download the demo version just to check it out.  I don’t want to do it right now, though.  I just won’t have the time I need to check it out properly.  Right now, I think I’ll concentrate on testing the beta version of Carrara 7 and the latest DAZ Studio Beta release.

I think that making 3D anime is possible for amatuers whether it be cell-shaded or full 3D.  The trick is to employ the time saving devices that they use in professional anime production.  The amount of actual animation in anime is much less than an Disney cartoon or a Pixar animation.  It does not matter, though, since the art is beautiful and the story is intriguing.  Well, that is the way it is intended to be, at least.  I guess there is a lot of anime out there that is just no good at all.

Right now, my goal is to just produce something viable.  I don’t mind if it is a total hack ripoff, because, the way I see it, producing anything would be quite an acomplishment.  In fact, I will probably start with a hack ripoff.  We will see.
