Disappointed with Adobe Premiere Elements

Really frustrated with Adobe Premiere Elements.  I recently replaced Pinnacle Studio with Premiere, thinking that it would be much better, since the Pro version of Premiere is industry standard and Adobe is a powerhouse of industry standard software.  I am disappointed to find, however, that it has some ridiculous limitations.  These limitations are not due to the fact that it is the “Elements” version, either.  The Pro version has the same limitations.  Its pretty ridiculous.  To be fair, though, it could be that I am missing something.  I am new to the software, afterall.

{jumi [*4]}First of all, you can’t combine clips together.  Sure, its easy to split them, but putting them back together is like Humpty Dumpty.  They just don’t give you a way to do it.  How can they fail to see the obvious importance of this?  If you provide an auto-analyzer to break a clip up into smaller ones, there needs to be a way to reverse those breaks that you deem unnecessary or mistakes.

Of course, this would not be such a big deal if it wasn’t for the second problem:  you cannot adjust video effects across multiple clips at once.  It lets you apply it to a group, but not change its settings, so I guess that little feature is only helpful if you want to keep all of the default settings for your effect, which I don’t believe I have wanted once.

Sorry for the rant.  I’m just really disappointed by Adobe Premiere.  That being said, however, Pinnacle Studio was unacceptably bad.  I wonder if Sony Vegas is better.  Does anyone have experience with that?
